[An autobiography and a family history]. 1969-ca. 1986.

"An essay of incidents in my life". Autobiographical reminiscences describing his childhood in Melbourne and the country, especially at the family property near Kyneton, and his career as a signwriter, primarily with A.C. Muntz in Elizabeth Street, Melbourne. Includes "A history of the family of John Thomson compiled by Miss M. Harper in 1969". In addition to containing considerable detail about the profession of signwriting, the autobiography, compiled in the author's 87th year, includes general remarks on life and conditions in Melbourne, including the Depression years, personalities whom Colin Watson met and with whom he worked, and his comments on aspects of present-day life and society. Whilst working for A.C. Muntz, Colin Watson undertook an art course at George Bell's studio in Toorak, and, after his retirement, gave more of his time to painting.
